*Former Spice Girl Mel B. appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this week to clarify recent reports that she is planning to enter rehab to treat her demons.
“My therapy changed a little bit because I was in a very intense relationship, which you can all read about in my book,” Mel (born Melanie Brown) told guest host Lea Michele in reference to her upcoming memoir, “Brutally Honest,” due out in November.
As noted by Billboard, the ”America’s Got Talent” judge explained that she’s been in therapy since her father was diagnosed with cancer nine years ago, but the treatment changed a bit because of the “very intense relationship” she was in with ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.

“But no, I’m not an alcoholic. No, I’m not a sex addict. I was with the same person [Belafonte] for 10 years, and that was quite a turmoil, very intense,” she told Michele.
“I address a lot of those issues [in the book] and did kind of have to ease my pain. And I do suffer a lot from PTSD.”
Brown reportedly said in a recent British tabloid interview that she decided to seek treatment at “proper” therapy program in the U.K. because she found it to be quite traumatic writing the book and re-living some of the painful chapters of her life.
