Juliet Romeo is a writer and director who is a New York native with strong ties to South Florida. Her first short documentary, J.U.L.E.S is a personal story of her struggles with the chronic disease sickle cell anemia. It was chosen by PBS for the debut season of its Film-Maker series. It won the NSU Symposium Best Documentary and was a special selection at The Urban Film Festival, Allen Maldonado’s Everybody Digital Black History Film Festival and the 2019 American Black Film Festival. Juliet recently won The Best Pitch Award at the Miami Film Market for her feature documentary.
Juliet also teaches a documentary and screenwriting workshop at Urgent Inc, a Miami-Dade youth program. Her students received the social impact award for their short documentary under her training. Juliet’s ultimate goal is to use her life experiences and her company; Media Jules Production, to continue to create unique narratives and content that touch people’s lives in positive ways.
